The BFD-10 pilot freeze dryers are ideal tools for R&D laboratories and small non-aseptic production plant to perform research development activities and batch stability test before scaling up to commercial production.
The range machines combine many of the features of larger freeze dry systems in a small floor model console system. Offer shelf area up to 1.26m2 and condenser capacity up to 50L.

Technical Details
The BFD-10 freeze dryer has the similar technical features and system performance to the commercial larger units such as the PLC based controller, temperature controlled shelves, pressure control and cGLP compliant. Which enable it fits a wide range of freeze drying applications from laboratory investigation works to small diagnostics production.



Easy to Install
The BFD-10 freeze dryer is all-in-one design, all its subsystems and components (drying chamber, ice condenser, vacuum pump, refrigeration, electric cabinet and the pipe work etc.) are constructed in a steel cabinet. With casters and height adjustable feet for easy moving and installing.
The machine is pre-assembled and is comprehensively tested in our factory before it is shipped. User only need connect electric (and compressed air in some case) to put it into service.
2-Chamber System
Drying chamber and ice condenser are separate, connected by a spool piece and an isolation valve can be installed between to perform pressure rise test. The drying chamber is rectangular shape that offers maximum space using rate, and the ice condenser is cylindrical shape for easy defrost and water drain.
Temperature Controlled Shelves
Shelves in BFD-10 system are fluid based and are always temperature controlled: heat transfer fluid circulates inside sandwich type heat-plates for product pre-freeze and later heating for sublimation. The fluid is cooled through a brazed plate heat exchanger which connect to the refrigeration system and is heated by an electric bar.
Precise Temperature Control
Fluid based shelf system guarantees uniform temperature of all heat-plates and plate points. Temperature sensors have been installed in both the fluid inlet and return pipe to monitor shelves temperature, and PID control is applied to ensure the temperature accuracy (Temperature variance between heat-plates and plate points are less than +/-1C.). An additional heat-plate is installed on top of the shelf module to provide extra energy for thermal balance.
